DocForensic

PDF Sanitizer

Create a safer copy of a PDF by removing risky active content like JavaScript, embedded files, and auto-run actions.

Detects and removes potentially unsafe active PDF content - JavaScript, embedded file attachments, automatic/launch actions, and (optionally) external links or interactive form fields - while preserving normal visible content. This is not a redaction tool or a metadata remover; those are separate DocForensic tools.

Simple workflow

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

Add a PDF - it is scanned for JavaScript, embedded files, and other active content.

  2. 2

    Choose settings

Keep the recommended defaults or adjust which risky content to remove.

  3. 3

    Download

Get a sanitized copy with normal page content preserved.

Frequently asked questions

Will this remove metadata or redact content?

No. PDF Sanitizer only targets active/embedded content such as JavaScript, embedded files, and automatic actions. Use the Metadata Remover or a redaction tool for those purposes instead.
